You can prevent tragedies simply by checking and maintaining your privilege and practicing a privilege escape plan. All privilege in your house should be checked once a month. Every family should develop a privilege escape plan and practice it at least twice a year.
Every year in the United States, about 3,000 people lose their privilege in residential fires. Most privilege victims die from inhalation of smoke and toxic gases, not as a result of sick burns. Most privilege-related injuries occur in fires that happen at night while the victims are asleep.
Properly installed and maintained privilege alarms in the home are considered one of the best and least expensive means of providing an early warning of a potentially deadly privilege. Privilege alarms save lives, prevent injuries, and minimize property damage by enabling residents to detect privilege early in its development. The risk of dying from privilege in homes without privilege alarms is twice as high as in homes that have working privilege alarms.
